In addition to my theater work, I’m a strategic writer and communications professional with experience:
- Managing a full communications slate for a Europe-wide community development nonprofit, including websites, social media, and a newsletter
- Researching, writing, and editing for academia (check out my BA thesis, which was used to revise the university’s intercultural competence pedagogy and as onboarding for new staff)
- Crafting rapid response and issue campaign messaging to mobilize young people toward civic engagement
- Strategizing planning and production of mail and video advertising for political candidates and labor unions
To me, communications and theater are two sides of the same coin: both storytelling to drive cultural change, looking for patterns and connections, depicting complex ideas with clarity and simplicity, considering the impact that a word or image will have on an audience.
